Linzer Astronomische Gemeinschaft

Founded in 1947 the Astronomical Society of Linz is a local Upper Austrian astronomy club with about 200 members. It is our goal to disseminate some knowledge about astronomy to as many people as possible.

We have a small observatory in Linz with a 50 cm (20 inch, f/10) Cassegrain telescope and a apochromatic fluorite refractor (102 mm, f/8.8).

Since September 1995 there is an additional observing site away from the Linz city lights, which is equipped with a Celestron C14 and a 12 inch dobson.

The annual membership fee is not very high:
€ 30,-- for standard membership
€ 17,-- for students

For our international visitors we offer an astronomical dictionary (German/French/English). The rest of this site is in German.
