Eine wahre Geschichte und ein schönes Zeugnis für den Geist von AWB
Ein Beispiel für die gelebte Idee von Astronomers Without Borders wie es schöner nicht sein könnte und das genau das präsentiert was AWB ausmacht.
Nämlich grenzüberschreitende
Freundschaft & globales Teilen einer Begeisterung und Leidenschaft über alle
Grenzen hinweg.
Im Nachfolgenden wird nicht nur die
Begeisterung geteilt sondern auch astronomisches Gerät über Grenzen hinweg !
Für Azhy Hasan (nationaler AWB-Koordinator für Iraq/Kurdistan) einem
begeisterten Amateurastronom im kurdischen Teil vom Iraq ist ein Traum in
Erfüllung gegangen.
Nazar Sallam (AWB-Koordinator für
die arabischen Emirate) hat ihm den größten Wunsch seines Lebens erfüllt !
Nazar Sallam ist ein extrem
aktiver Amateurastronom, er hat schon zahlreiche mobile Observatorien gebaut
und ist damit unterwegs die Faszination für Astronomie seinen Landsleuten
näher zu bringen. Ich bin
mittlerweile in freundschaftlicher Verbindung mit ihm, vor allem
auch bezügliche meines eigenen kleinen Astrotrailerprojektes (http://www.sternwarte.at/LAG-AWB/astrotrailer/) und
der Planung einer Reise damit durch Saudiarabien (2012/2013) bei der ich auch
ihn persönlich treffen werde.
Nachfolgend die Worte von Azhy und im Anschluss die kurze aber berührende Geschichte.

It is so hard to find a telescope in Iraq in theses hard days, and if you try to requesting and buying a telescope by Internet you will facing with big problems of shipping processes, it is a risky thing to buy a telescope and shipped to Iraq.
2 months ago I was looking for a good telescope for my own self and for both home and sidewalk activities using too...But after all I was facing with big problems, the final one was from the telescope producers it self, Meade company no longer will producing this kind of telescope! Some friends promised to helping me and find a way to have this telescope, even if it was a second hand one...
